The place was very close to my hotel, so I bought soup three times. It is always to take away, but you can order there and eat standing up (there is space and the street is never crowded). Sometimes I saw a small queue in the evening. If the soup is finished early, then you can expect that the place will be closed a little earlier than the schedule indicates in Google. The lobster roll is small, but the soups are totally worthy and that's the reason I didn't decrease the stars for that. The list of soups changes every day. They give a piece of bread, mint chocolate and a fruit (apple, pear, banana). Considering the usual prices in NYC, this place has a very good price. I ordered the smallest size of soup, and for me it was enough.

Iconic Soup Kitchen from Seinfeld episode, no soup for you! Had delicious chicken bone broth soup! Great selection of soups. Tip, nice little bakery across the street if you want a brioche roll with your soup!

Yes, it’s the best soup ever. I came back here a few times and every soup I have tasted was stellar. The lobster bisque is gorgeous. The split pea and ham soup was spectacular. Seriously delicious soup.

Nice selection of great tasting soups. Their prices would be reasonable in most locations, let alone Manhattan. We decided to try the lobster roll and that was surprisingly good too. Figured we’d try it for $17. It’s nice that the soups are served with a roll, a pear and a little after dinner mint. If you want something quick, easy, inexpensive and hearty, give this place a shot. And we weren’t told “No Soup For You!”

Watched Seinfeld episode with my 10yr old granddaughter and she wanted to visit the Original Soup Kithen. You get a piece of fruit, a slice of bread and a chocolate dinner mint, my granddaughter, and i love this place . You must go if you are a True ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Seinfeld fan! Got the broccoli and cheddar soup and it was amazing. Packed with veggies and flavor. Also love the fact that they give free fruit, chocolate and bread with the soup. It’s super cute and makes you feel special. Also a really good price in an inflated world!

Not much to say. Im not really a soup guy but I really liked the chicken chilli. Souvenirs are little expensive though. Their actual menu has more options than the one here

Been to The Soup Kitchen twice since arriving in NYC. Helps that it’s just down the street from the hotel I’m staying at…. Strongly recommend the chicken jambalaya and chicken and corn chowder. Less enthused about the shrimp and corn chowder (I found it bland).
